Rules of the Forum [Updated 5/30/08]
« Thread Started on May 30, 2008, 7:07pm »

We don't have that many rules--if you use common sense, then you should be fine. But still, everyone should look over and abide by these simple and common rules of this message board:

1. Treat your fellow members with respect. Don't put down others "just for the fun of it." And please don't bash each other if you have different opinions. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion; you should know that.

2. Don't post negative or false statements about David Cook if they are not true. And don't post them "just to annoy people." It's wrong and disrespectful toward both David Cook and his fans.

3. No spamming. If you don't know what spamming is, then it is simply posting multiple messages back-to-back, or posting one-word and pointless posts. There is a "Modify" button on posts for a reason, and I expect you to use it properly! Post messages that actually contribute to the discussions...

4. Posting links to other websites is fine, just make sure that the site is "family-friendly," okay? I would really prefer to keep this site clean.

5. Pictures are allowed, of course. We even have a board dedicated to posting just pictures, which is located under the "David Cook" category. When posting pictures, then the location of the original source would be much appreciated.

6. Rumors are allowed, but only if it is within reasoning! Any completely false news and articles will be deleted. If you post any news material that is unconfirmed, then the location of the original source must be included.

7. If you post any confirmed news material, then the post must be accompanied by the location of the original source.

8. Signature and avatar sizes... Signature banners do not need to be any larger than 550x200. Avatars should be no larger than 150x150.

9. No chatspeak--please. Sure, common sayings like "brb," "g2g," and "lol" are fine, just don't overuse these, okay?! Do not abbreviate words like "you" and "are" to make them "u" and "r." Seriously, each word is only THREE letters!! It won't kill you to write out the whole word! I honestly hate chatspeak, and I don't use it very often unless I am in a hurry. Write your posts in English so we can all understand what you're saying. Literacy is a really important thing here.
